1. Banana chips were promoted as a perfect substitute for sweets. Why eat 300 grams of chocolate, when you can enjoy a healthy banana snack. Banana is healthy after all, right? The thing is, banana chips are made by deep frying bananas. Just one serving of banana chips contains about 10 grams of saturated fat, which has an awful impact on our cholesterol levels. Take a fresh banana instead, and you will be very satisfied!

An attempt by Boko Haram terrorists to attack Nigerian Army’s blocking position early this morning in Gwoza, Borno state has been repelled by the troops.
According to a statement by the Nigerian army sent to Naij.com, the encounter which started at about 5.00am today, November 13, lasted for almost two hours.
Although details are still being collated, s 7 terrorists were gunned down and the following weapons recovered; 1 Toyota Hilux vehicle, 11 AK-47 rifles, 1 shilka gun, 1 rocket propelled grenade tube, 6 hand grenades. Others include several rounds of shilka gun and machine gun ammunition.

How A Biafran Became President Of An African Country

The current president of Gabon is rumoured to be a Nigerian of Igbo origin who was accepted by a former leader of the country during the Biafran war.
With next year’s presidential polls coming, debate has been brewing over the birthplace of President Ali Bongo Ondimba of Gabon with critics allege fabricated his birth certificate to cover the fact that he was adopted from another country.
If the claims are proved true, it could keep him from contesting for another term and cost him his wealth.
This surprising revelation is about to be disclosed as a court in western France on November 12, Thursday, permitted a family member of Ali Bongo Ondimba to view the birth certificate of the leader after claims that he lied about where he was born.
The court in Nantes allowed 25-year-old Onaida Maisha Bongo Ondimba, a daughter of ex-president Omar Bongo, to read the documents in full.
Her legal representative Eric Moutet praised the decision as “enormous”, and “diplomatically complex”.
Ali Bongo is the only one of former president Omar Bongo’s 54 announced inheritors not to have produced the identification documents.
He became the president after the 2009 death of his father Omar Bongo, who had ruled the West African country and its oil and mineral wealth since 1967.
According to the Gabonese constitution one must be born Gabonese to become the head of state, but French investigative reporter Pierre Pean supposed in a recent book that the president was actually Nigerian and was adopted during the Biafran war in the late 1960s.
Bongo himself says he was born in Brazzaville in 1959, the former capital of French Equatorial Africa.
The Bongo family is alleged to have skimmed off 25% of the oil-rich nation’s gross domestic product over the years, and Omar was said to be one of the world’s wealthiest heads of state.
The Nantes civil registration centre is answerable for all birth certificates of people born in French Equatorial Africa up to 1960, when the former colonial countries in the region gained independence to become Gabon, Congo, Chad and the Central African Republic.
Ali Bongo declared in late August that he would give “all his share of the inheritance” from his father to “the Gabonese youth” in a speech marking the 55th anniversary of independence.

Tukur Gusau, the media Coordinator of Operation Lafiya Dole stated this while briefing newsmen in Maiduguri on Friday.
“Boko Haram terrorists, despite their obvious losses, have made a desperate but costly attempt to attack Nigerian Army’s blocking position early this morning in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno.
“The encounter which started at about 5 a.m. on Friday lasted for almost two hours,” Mr. Gusau, a colonel, said.
He said a number of weapons were recovered by the army.
“Although details are still being collated, suffice to state that seven suspected terrorists were gunned down.
“The following items were recovered; one Toyota Hilux vehicle, 11 AK-47 rifles, one Shilka Gun, one Rocket Propelled Grenade Tube, six Hand Grenades. Others include several rounds of Shilka Gun and Machine Gun ammunition,” Gusau said.
He added that troops were on pursuit of the attackers into Sambisa forest to eliminate all of them while the Nigerian Air Force was bombarding their locations.
Mr. Gusau said the attack was part of desperate efforts by the terrorists to draw attention.
“It will be recalled that the Boko Haram terrorists’ ability as a coherent fighting force has been degraded over time by troops through relentless attacks, patrols and aerial bombardments.
“The desperate attack was a failed attempt to project an image of strength, it is part of the last struggles of a dying evil,” he said.
Mr. Gusau said that troops of 7 Division Garrison and 112 Task Force Battalion also recovered large number of weapons in Mafa LGA.
.
“Similarly. troops of 7 Division Garrison and 112 Task Force Battalion on Thursday while on fighting patrol recovered weapons in Busheshe village in Mafa axis.
